Cancel your plan

Cancel every hosting plan on your account from My plan: what happens to your plans, sites, refunds, and domains, and how to confirm.

The Cancel hosting plan card at the bottom of My plan cancels every plan on your account. To cancel one plan and keep the others, use the row menu of that plan in the Plan and add-ons table instead.

Only Owners, Admins, and Billing members see the card.

What happens when you cancel

  • Each plan ends at the end of its billing period. It stays active until then, and you are not charged for it again.
  • A plan with sites on it cannot be cancelled. Move each site to another plan or delete it first. Deleting a site removes it and every environment it has.
  • Within 30 days of your first payment, cancelling refunds the plan's hosting charges in full and ends the plan right away. The card shows the date your window closes.
  • Domains are not affected. Avaloi does not register domains, so cancelling never cancels a domain. Your domains stay with your registrar.

Cancel

  1. Open Settings, then Billing. My plan opens.
  2. On the Cancel hosting plan card, select Cancel plan.
  3. Check the list of plans to cancel and the date each billing period ends.
  4. Type your company name exactly as shown. Capital letters count; spaces before and after do not.
  5. Optionally, say why you are leaving. The note goes in the audit log.
  6. Select Cancel plan.

The dialog then says what happened to each plan: the day it ends, or that it has ended with the amount refunded.

If a plan still has sites, the dialog lists them under Delete or move these sites first, links to each site and to Sites, and keeps the button off.

Enterprise accounts see Contact sales to cancel instead, because Avaloi sales sets up and ends Enterprise plans.

For scripts and agents

  • POST /v1/billing/subscriptions/{id}/cancel cancels one plan. Send confirm: true and immediately: false to end it at period end. It answers 409 with the code plan_has_sites while sites use the plan.
  • GET /v1/billing/subscriptions lists the plans, with sites_used and cancel_at_period_end.

What happens to my test sites? Test sites are free and use no plan, so they do not block a cancel.
